Uche Ignites Straightforward Crystal Palace Triumph at Irish Side Shelbourne.
Despite embarking on their maiden European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting very quickly. Missing key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
A further three points in their next fixture against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to seal direct entry to the last 16, particularly after a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Opportunity
This occasion offered a chance for some of Palace's lesser-used players to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second consecutive match.
A Shelbourne team that had finished their domestic season proved outmatched against a largely second-string Palace lineup. The visitors were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee problems.
Control Established from the Start

Ex-Arsenal man did not have wait long to find his goal, tapping home from a yard out after Uche's shot had struck the post.
Shelbourne were hanging on desperately. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for a couple of agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the crossbar with a header from a corner.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his very first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise positive evening for the visiting side.
